U12s vs Leeds Hyde Park

Under 12s hosted a Division 3 team today when Leeds Hyde Park travelled over to Batley Grammer School.

It was a slow start as we look to blow away the cobwebs after a long break, barring last weeks training match against one of our Under 13s teams.

The pinks took the lead through a freekick from Harry R who riffled a shot into the top of the net after some great work from Mollie down the right wing who played a ball through to Harry.

L.H.P. followed up shortly after a clearance fell to their striker who slotted home to equalise.

Harry C was then fouled in the box and stepped up to take the penalty which the keeper saved but Harry was there to slot home the rebound.

L.H.P. equalised before half time to make it 2-2 at the break with a good move down the left flank.

The second half was hard work against the wind with Oisin making some last ditch tackles and Oliver (who received Player of the match) was kept busy pulling off some great saves a number of times.

It was the team 3 divisions higher who grabbed the win late on as they found plenty of space in the middle of the park and finished clinically to make it 2-3.

There was good parts to the game from all the players but plenty to work on as we move closer to the season.

Thanks to all the players who were available and the effort put in today.
