U10 Pinks vs Stanningley

Game 1

The pinks welcomed Stanningley for their cup game and after last weeks impressive showing they didn't disappoint this week either. After some intricate passing by the pinks they took the lead with a wonderful strike by Joe. The pinks pressure continued and the lads could be heard calling for the ball and with great link up play they soon added to their lead with Joey getting on the score sheet and Jenson following up with an excellent strike from just inside the opponents half Tyler then added another after some brilliant build up play.

Stanningley pulled a goal back just before the break. After the break the pinks continued with the same energy from the first half with Jack L making a driving run from midfield and having his shot saved by the opponents keeper, shortly after Jack L was rewarded with a goal after a well time strike gave their keeper no chance to save. Joe added to his first half goal with a brilliant finish.

The opponents keeper was force to make two saves in quick succession and the score finished how they were. A very good display by the pinks with lots of energy and communicating

Game 2

Again the pinks welcomed Stanningley for a cup game and like the first game its was played with lots of energy. Some great defending early of by Jack S and Jack G kept the scores level. After some beautiful passing Henry was played in by Joel to open the scoring.

Harry was called into action and made a great save after a Stanningley player broke free. The pinks were closing down the ball really well with Jack S and George making some great tackles/interceptions, then the pinks added to their lead after Henry played the ball to Daniel for him to finish well then Henry added to his earlier goal.

The opponents then scored three unanswered goals after a spell of pressure on the pinks. The lads heads did not drop and they began to apply the pressure back on the opponents and were soon awarded a penalty for hand ball. Joel went to collect the ball and stepped up and finished the spot kick so well.

Stanningley's keeper was then called into action again when both Henry and Jack G had great strikes saved. Jack S then added to score sheet with a goal from a difficult angle. Joel added to his earlier goal before Jack G score a wonder goal from the halfway line. The pinks finished the game strong and Joel completed his hat-trick. Another excellent performance by the pinks and a well deserved result.
