Under 10s in game reversed to away fixture

The under 10s made the short trip to Drighlington for their weekend league fixture. A good team from previous games gone, the boys knew they were in for a tough game.

Game 1:
The Pinks started the game brightly and quickly got on the score sheet.
Kobie went down the wing, got his shot Off which produced a good save and Samuel followed up to finish.
Kobie then got his goal with clever ball through from Joe with a tidy finish.
Joe then got himself in the action with a couple of goals just before the end of the first quarter. The boys defending well from the back and keeping the door closed for a good period. The 2nd period started and Drighlington got themselves back into the game, scoring 2 quickly in a quarter they had the better off.
The 3rd quarter started and the pinks put their stamp on the game again. Some great play in the middle of the park by Jack, winning challenges, playing through balls, Mikey and brax keeping attacks to a minimum. Connor with good distribution. A couple more goals from kobie and a late consolation from drighlington ended a very entertaining game.

Game 2:
End to end action.
The pinks took an early lead, Sam A played out from the back, into Byron on the right, into Jacob’s feet, who laid it off for an Alfie run and top bins. Great start.
It was then the Pedro show as a very good Drig team took over the rest of the half as 4/5 top drawer saves from our little samba keeper kept the pinks ahead to half time. The defence of Nathan/Sam/Ben also battling hard to make blocks and tackles.
The second half started and it was all Drig for 10 minutes as they finally got their goal through their efforts. The pinks then got back their grip on the game as Layton played further back, and played the ball out with his wand of a left foot. He was turning their defence time and time again.
The pinks then scored with some good work from Alfie hitting the post and Jacob following up and slotting home. Layton then set up Sam F for his deserved goal as he lead the line well all game against some very good defenders.
