Under 9s vs Stanningley

Game 1

Pass and move, it’s the LS27 way.
Some fantastic work in training in paying off with the boys taking the 3 touches and passing into their game.

A game which saw the pinks have majority of the play attacking against a resolute Stanningley defence and their keeper making several saves. The pinks went ahead through a nice touch inside and shot into the corner by Kobie. The next came from a short corner, kobie into Levi, square ball and volley by Byron. The last came from a well worked goal from the right, Samuel into Byron, Byron into Levi, Levi square to jacob who then cut inside and shot past the stranded keeper.

This sandwiched a save Messlier would have been proud of from Levi when one on one. Stuck out a huge paw to save a certain goal.

The passing was great, the defending was great, the play was great. Well done boys. Keep up the good work.

Levi- MOM in goal and then came out to get an assist
Sam A- never gets beat, good distribution from the back.
Jack - up and down, dynamic display. Broke down play and started things going.
Jaxon- don’t get in his way, he WILL tackle you. Class again
Jacob- good link up play, battled hard and took his goal well
Samuel- sacrificed himself towards to end to help the defence. Energetic as always
Byron- up and down, got a goal, made some fantastic blocks.
Kobie - lead the line well, some good skills and chased back.
Sam F- passed well, tackled well, linked up well.

Mom- Jack and Levi.

Well done team 1 against a good team.

Game 2
Against another good Stanningley team which needed some last ditch defending, some unbelievable saves and some good attacking.

The team did themselves proud today. A lot of energy in the display saw the pinks have a tender lead at half time through a Mason goal.

Then for a good 12 minutes our goal was on siege. Hero defending from Nathan, Mikey, Harry and Zac allowed free running from Alfie, Mason, Dougie, bodi. Toby and Brax had energy to get up and down.

Against the run of play, the pinks scored through a thunderbolt from
Alfie who then got another is a very good performance.

Then the Moment of the game. New boy Doughie. Pick the ball up from the half way line. Beat 2/3 defenders before rounding the keeper and scoring.

Pedro- save and steady hands. Should call him P-Ederson.
Mikey- solid, cleared his lines well
Zac- energy and hustle.
Harry- warrior defending and clearing
Nathan- calm and cool, time looked like it stands still when he is on the ball
Brax- energy and more energy!!
Toby- good link up play and some nice passes
Mason- ever threatened to break down their defence
Alfie- all around Roy Keane performance, calm on the ball, thunderbolt shot.
Bodi- threat down the line, used his speed well
Dougie- tackle, running, passing, finished off with a beautiful goal.
