An exciting new partnership with Leeds United Foundation

We are delighted to announce that LS27 Football Club has formed an exciting new partnership with Leeds United Foundation, strengthening and supporting the future of our girls’ section.

Representatives from LS27 FC recently met with Leeds United Foundation’s Faye Sherrington and Abi Lee to discuss working closely together and developing a meaningful partnership focused on girls’ football. As the girls’ side of our club continues to grow at an incredible rate, both organisations are committed to building a strong and collaborative relationship.

As part of this partnership, Leeds United Foundation coaches will be delivering sessions for LS27 FC girls in the coming months, providing valuable support, inspiration, and development opportunities as we move forward together.

This is a fantastic opportunity for LS27 FC to be linked with an organisation that has a wonderful reputation and a strong commitment to growing the women’s and girls’ game at grassroots level.

LS27 FC has seen a remarkable increase in girls wanting to play football in the local area in recent years — growing from just four players to over fifty. The club now proudly fields four active teams in the West Riding Girls League, with an Under-6s team set to launch in the 2026/27 season, and an Under-5s group already forming for the year after.

“This partnership represents an incredible opportunity for our club,” said Chris Fan, Club Secretary and Under-8s Girls Head Coach. “The growth of girls’ football at LS27 FC has been phenomenal, and working alongside Leeds United Foundation will help us continue to build something truly special.”

Faye Sherrington, Leeds United Foundation, added:

“We’re excited to be working together to create more opportunities for girls to play, develop, and thrive in football across the Leeds district. Grassroots football is where first impressions of the sport are formed, and it plays a vital role in inspiring confidence, enjoyment, and a lifelong love of the game. By investing at this level, we can ensure girls have positive, inclusive experiences that encourage them to stay involved and reach their full potential.”

Like many of our recent announcements, this partnership marks another significant milestone for our ever-growing football club — and one we are incredibly proud of. We look forward to seeing this partnership grow and flourish in the years to come.
