Is it Sky Sports? ITV News? No... this is much bigger!

We are constantly looking for ways to serve our cimmunity and expand our offerings.
- Steve Gaughan - Chairman

LS27 FC are proud to confirm that club representatives recently attended a Disability Inclusion Workshop at the West Riding County FA Headquarters, as part of the club’s ongoing commitment to making football accessible to everyone in our community.

Club Chairman Steve Gaughan and Under 9s Coach Martin Naylor (pictured) represented LS27 FC at the workshop, which focused on understanding the wide range of disability football opportunities currently available and how grassroots clubs can begin to offer inclusive pathways for players of all abilities.

The session provided valuable insight into the different formats of disability football, including adapted training environments, inclusive team structures, and the support available to clubs looking to introduce disability provision for the first time. The West Riding FA also outlined the practical steps required for clubs to develop safe, sustainable, and welcoming disability football programmes.

During the visit, Martin was interviewed by the West Riding County FA, discussing LS27 FC’s ambition to expand its football offering and create opportunities for children who may not currently feel that traditional grassroots football is accessible to them. The interview highlighted the importance of education, correct planning, and partnership with the FA when developing inclusive football provision at grassroots level.

LS27 FC are now actively reviewing the possible disability football offerings that could be introduced in the near future, with the aim of providing a positive, supportive environment where every child has the chance to enjoy the game, develop confidence, and feel part of a team.

This workshop marks an important step in the club’s long-term vision to be more than just a football club, but a community organisation that reflects the values of inclusion, respect, and opportunity for all.

Further updates will be shared as LS27 FC continue to work closely with the West Riding County FA to explore the next steps in delivering disability-inclusive football within the LS27 community.
