U13 PINKS IN 7 GOAL THRILLER

The Pinks today entertained the excellent Hamilton Panthers who had travelled over from York to play the Pinks in a 3rd Pre season friendly

The Panthers are the best team in the York League and were excellent in the first 25 minute 3rd and combined with the Pinks not been at the races at all even though they had 3 good chances to score the Panthers raced in to a deserved 4-1 break at the end of the 1st third with the Pinks reply coming from Spencer.

After regrouping at the break and a bit of constructive criticism the Pinks were much better winning the 2nd quarter 1-0 through a free kick from Harley as well as forcing the Panthers keeper in to making some good saves and Spencer hitting the crossbar.

The last 3rd was much the same as the 2nd with both keepers making good saves and another goal from Spencer after turning his man and hitting a rocket of a half volley past the opposition keeper from the edge of the area with an early goal of the season contender whilst keeping another clean sheet.

Despite winning 2 of the thirds without conceding the Pinks ultimately paid the price for a lack lustre first 3rd which against good teams like the Panthers leaves a lot to do to get back in to the game although they almost managed to do so.

Good luck to Hamilton for their season in the York League and we will look forward to travelling over to York for a second game.
